Montpelier Motor Speedway Releases 2019 Season Schedule Featuring 25 Events Featuring 9 Different Sanctioning Bodies

As the Montpelier Motor Speedway enters its 116th year of racing including its 32nd consecutive season opener, race fans will find an aggressive and diverse schedule featuring 25 races at the East Central Indiana 1/4 mile clay oval for the 2019 season.  Owners and Promoters, Harold and Lori Hunter, enter their 11th year of promotion and 9th year of ownership of the facility built in 1903.
The Montpelier Motor Speedway will feature its weekly regular racing classes including the highly popular and competitive UMP Modifeds, Super Streets, and Thunder Cars along with the budget FWD Compact class all competing weekly.  Special events will still remain a point emphasis for the classes that put on tremendous racing every Saturday night at the Montpelier Motor Speedway with no less than 6 special paying events for the weekly classes.  Tough Trucks are welcome in the Thunder Car division and will be made into their own class with 15 entries.
The Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget series will enter its seventh season with a scheduled 9 dates towards the MMS track championship.  The highly competitive full size/unlimited engine Midget class has found a total of 23 different drivers in victory lane since its inception.  Midgets events will again feature a race within a race with the USAC Midwest Thunder D2 Midget winner also being recognized
The season will kickoff  with the 9th Annual Early Season Shootout on April 20.  The Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series will host two non-wing sprint car racing programs at the Montpelier Motor Speedway during the 2018 season on April 27th and again on September 7th in an annual fall event that brought 42 entries in 2017.

 

Super Late Models will return to the Montpelier Motor Speedway for two events during the 2019 season with the American Ethanol Late Model Tour on Saturday, May 4th and August 17th.   The events will pay $4000 To Win and $500 To Start and will serve as the opening night for the series.  The event will return the speedway back to its roots as MMS featuring  Late Models as their premiere weekly class in the 1980’s and 1990’s.

The NRA Sprint Invaders will host the Saturday Night portion of the Memorial Day Tripleheader at the Montpelier Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 25 with Limaland hosting the Friday night portion and the Eldora Speedway hosting the Sunday night portion.
A diverse open wheel schedule will compete at the Montpelier Motor Speedway including the return of the prestigious USAC National Midgets on Tuesday, June 4th  serving as the first night of Indiana Midget Week. Kyle Larson has claimed 2 of the 3 Indiana Midget Week wins at the Montpelier Motor Speedway.
The Montpelier Motor Speedway will celebrate the life and racing career of UMP Modified veteran Greg Pitts on June 8th with the Greg Pitts Memorial and this season will be joined by the American Ethanol Modifed Tour which will boost the special event’s payday to $1500 To Win and $200 To Start along with a nice payout through the field.  The Great Lake Super Sprints will bring 360 Winged Sprint Car action to the Montpelier Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 15th.
The June 29th racing program will see the return of an action packed Fireworks show presented by Circle City Pyrotechnics.  The program will feature with a full slate of racing including the Midgets, UMP Modifeds, Super Streets, Thunder Cars, and the FWD along with a professional Firework Celebration optimized for viewing from the Montpelier grandstands.
Border Wars 5 will bring the NRA Sprint Invaders and the Great Lake Super Sprints together on the same track for their only time during 2019 season on Saturday, July 27th
The speedway will host the always popular Family Night on August 3rd featuring discounted admission, food, and an pit side autograph session.
Another winged Sprint Car event will hit the Montpelier ¼ mile on August 31st  with the FAST ON DIRT 410 Winged Sprint Car Series presented by BOSS which will find competitors competing for $3000 To Win and $300 To Start.
The season will conclude with a host of popular special programs with 9th Annual Late Season Shootout on September 21st. The speedway’s biggest UMP Modified race to date will return with the third running of the Fall Throwdown 40 featuring a UMP Modified – $3000 To Win Special main event on September 28th.
Plexiglas, sprint car wings, topless modifieds, and innovation will hit the track in quickly growing event with the 9th Annual Outlaw Showdown on Saturday, October 12th. The season will conclude with the fan favorite with 13th Annual Monster Mash on October 26th featuring trick or treating in the pit area before the races and the infamous one chance per year to win the “Monster Mash Skull Trophy”.
The King of TQ Midgets will be the be the host series for a TQ Midgets event during the 2019 season.  The series utilizes Midgets built three-quarter the size of their MMS Midget Series brethren.  The American Vintage Sprint Car Association will make their third ever  appearance at the Montpelier Motor Speedway on August 3rd.
