SOD Sprints on Dirt to Co-Sanction With the NRA Sprint Invaders For Winged Sprint Car Events at the Montpelier Motor Speedway Saturday, August 1st.

When the winged sprint car events  roll into the sleepy small town of Montpelier, Indiana on Saturday, Saturday, August 1st, the event will feature a true epic battle drawing Ohio’s and Michigan’s finest winged sprint car drivers to the Indiana 1/4 mile bullring.  Joining the always fast and action packed K&L Ready Mix NRA Sprint Invaders for the first time will be the Michigan based Engine Pro Sprints on Dirt series.  The co-sanctioned event will pit the best NRA and SOD drivers against each other on a trip encompassing a rare co-sanctioned event within Indiana and a first for the Montpelier Motor Speedway.   The co-sanction of the NRA and SOD will not only expand the car count for the programs, but produce a heavy hitter field filled with the best drivers from each the NRA and SOD.

The Montpelier Motor Speedway, which began racing in 1903 and hosted its first automobile race in 1915, is one of America’s oldest remaining racing facilities. While the east central Indiana ¼ mile clay oval has a historic past, the facility has seen many major modern upgrades the past four seasons including new restrooms and bleachers along with the addition of many safety features including a new catch fence and front stretch wall. The Montpelier Motor Speedway commonly competes weekly on Saturday Nights with its popular Modified and Stock Car divisions and is also the host to the popular Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget series.
